One Chance Halloween, No Tricks

Halloween is one of the most popular holidays across the country. It’s that time of year to wear your favorite costumes, go trick-or-treating with friends and family, and enjoy more candy than usual. Here at One Chance, we celebrate all the fun that Halloween brings, but we also know this holiday comes with a few important safety reminders for parents and children alike. As parents, many of us can recall a time when we were encouraged to double-check Halloween candy for anything suspicious—like stories of hidden razors or unfriendly treats that might harm kids. This cautionary mindset is part of Halloween for a reason: to protect our kids from anything that might threaten their fun or their safety.

Today, we have a new reason to stay vigilant. As part of our mission at One Chance, to protect kids from mislabeled and deceptive THC-infused products, we’re seeing a rise in THC-laced candies that look strikingly similar to regular sweets. These products are so well-disguised that even adults can have trouble telling the difference, making it all too easy for young trick-or-treaters to be at risk of accidental ingestion.

That’s why we’ve created a short video (linked below) to show parents and guardians just how closely some THC products resemble traditional candies. This visual resource is meant to raise awareness, encourage conversations with kids, and give families the tools to stay safe this Halloween.

Our message to everyone this Halloween is simple: Have fun, be safe, and double-check any treats that come home before they’re enjoyed. Let’s make sure Halloween stays about fun costumes, happy memories, and safe treats.

From all of us at One Chance to Grow Up, we wish you a very safe and happy Halloween! 🎃
